Group photos

I like the composition of these photos with the band being close together but around a curve. I also like the direct mode of address from all individuals.
Each member has a black band shirt with coloured trousers in order to bring a sense of cohesiveness between the members of the band.
There are examples of intertextuality with merchandise from various rock/metal bands (with some of them being mentioned specifically elsewhere on the website).

I do not like how much of the body is covered by the railing in these photos so will likely not use them.

I like the composition and poses in this photo as well as the relatively plain/natural background that brings attention to the individuals.
Each member is wearing a leather jacket to bring a sense of cohesiveness between the members of the band.

Photos of Evie (drums)

I like the poses and subverting gaze in these photos however the houses in the background are not ideal.

I do not like the background in this photo so will likely not use it.
I like the subverting gaze in these photos and the contrast between the dark colour palette of the outfit against the solid white background.

I like the dynamic pose in this photo and the contrast between the grey colour palette of the outfit against the solid white background.
I would be interested in experimenting with editing this photo to add 3D/glowing style face paint over the top to link with the animations in the video + other parts of the website.
An example of intertextuality can be seen with the hoodie which is from a horror film (which are closely related to the rock genre) and this individual mentions horror films elsewhere on the website and wears a lot of clothing referencing various horror films.

I do not like the background or the angle of the pose in this photo so will likely not use it.

I would like to use this photo as an interactive part of the website where the user can scroll to reveal Photo Booth/polaroid style photos of each member of the band.

I have individual photos for each band member with this backdrop and their instrument. I feel the background is simple enough to not distract the audience but also fits in with the image of the rock genre.

Each member of the band will have a photo with a Funko Pop that relates to their personality presented on the ‘About Us’ page. For this one, the figure is of the main character from the Crow, a horror film featuring a soundtrack of mainly rock music.
The background is of a rat cage (which is also brought up on the website) as it is busy but not too distracting.

Photos of Amara (bass)

I like the composition/perspective and poses in these photos. I also like the direct mode of address.
The background is not perfect however it is not the worst and is also not very attention grabbing/distracting.

I like the direct mode of address and varying poses in these photos. However, I feel the pure black background blends too much with the top and the lighting is not great. I am not sure whether I will use these photos or not.

I like the subverting gaze and pose in this photo. I also like the contrast between the dark wall and the light floor in the background which compliments the colour palette of the outfit.
I would be interested in experimenting with editing this photo to add 3D/glowing style face paint over the top to link with the animations in the video + other parts of the website.
An example of intertextuality can be seen with the top referencing a 2000 comic (which are mentioned elsewhere on the website).

I would like to use this photo as an interactive part of the website where the user can scroll to reveal Photo Booth/polaroid style photos of each member of the band.
I will crop the bottom of the image in order to keep the shirt plain to match the other images and keep attention on the face/pose.

Each member of the band will have a photo with a Funko Pop that relates to their personality presented on the ‘About Us’ page. For this one, the figure is of the Marvel character Deadpool as a rock/metal singer. The individual mentions an interest in 2000s comics elsewhere on the website.
The background is of a rat cage (which is also brought up on the website) as it is busy but not too distracting.

Photos of Anna (guitar 1)

I do not like the background in these photos as I feel it is too distracting so will likely not use either of these unless I edit the background.
However, an example of intertextuality can be seen with the shirt which is merch from another hard rock band.

I like the more laid back composition of this shot, the audience can feel more of a personal relationship with the band. I also like the plain background of these photos which draws attention to the rock magazine mentioned on the website.
I would be interested in experimenting with editing this photo to add 3D/glowing style face paint over the top to link with the animations in the video + other parts of the website.

I tried experimenting with lighting for this photo as I have a guitar shaped light. I like how mainly the face is highlighted and the band name is framed by the light.

An example of intertextuality can be seen with the hoodie which is from a rock band.

Photos of me (guitar 2)

I like the lighting of this photo and the framing to bring focus on the shirt + face, however the background is not perfect.

I like the more laid back composition of this shot, the audience can feel more of a personal relationship with the band.
Examples of intertextuality can be seen with the hoodie and cap which are both merchandise items from rock/metal bands.
I would be interested in experimenting with editing this photo to add 3D/glowing style face paint over the top to link with the animations in the video + other parts of the website.
I like the direct mode of address and codes of expression/gesture in this photo which again communicates a more personal relationship between the band and the audience.

I have individual photos for each band member with this backdrop and their instrument. I feel the background is simple enough to not distract the audience but also fits in with the image of the rock genre.
Examples of intertextuality can be seen with the hoodie from another band and various stickers that reference horror films (that are closely linked to the rock image).
Each member of the band will have a photo with a Funko Pop that relates to their personality presented on the ‘About Us’ page. For this one, the figure is of the lead singer of KoRn which is a band mentioned as an inspiration on the website.
The background is of a rat cage (which is also brought up on the website) as it is busy but not too distracting.
I like the framing of this photo as i feel it gives it a certain ‘edge’ associated with the rock genre.
I like the full body shot and subverting gaze, however the houses in the background are not ideal.
I feel this image would be ideal for a magazine front cover created by the band for the audience as a more unique piece of merch. Many rock bands collaborate with pre-existing music magazines to sell specific issues on their website.
I do not like the angle of this photo and I feel the lighting is quite dark so I will likely not use this photo.
I do not like the composition of this image or the shadow on the background so will likely not use it.

Merch inspiration

I am looking to create two magazine front covers as part of the merch section of my website. This magazine would be created by the band for their fans, engaging with the relationship between star and audience. They will feature links to both the music video and other aspects of the website.
These front covers are my inspiration, drawing on specifically the masthead and overall composition.
